Let’s make a turkey….
So for today’s craft we are gonna make a turkey! It’s SO easy!!!
What you will need:
- Paper plate
- Brown construction paper
- Red construction paper
- Yellow construction paper
- And of course any other decorative stuff you have around the house
The paper plate is meant to be the feathers of the turkey. So you can have the kids draw their own feathers on the plate. They can paint on them or you could even buy some feathers for them to glue onto the plate.
For those parents with kids aged 2-4 – Your kids are learning how to count numbers and identify what they look like and are even learning to write the numbers down on paper. So you can use the plate and divide it into 10 sections. Have them color each section a different color and then write in a bold color from 1-10.
You could even do the alphabet. It all depends at what stage you guys are at :0)
Let’s move on…
Now we have the feathers taken care of. All we need now is the body of the turkey! Make the head by cutting out a circle from brown construction paper. Then the body by cutting out an oval shape with the brown construction paper. It’s up to you if you want the turkey to have wings. Cut out the feet and the beak with the yellow construction paper and then don’t forget to draw in the eyes (we wouldn’t want an eyeless turkey).
And then put all the pieces together and there you have it. A TURKEY MY FRIENDS!!!!!
